If you're a regular user of electric blankets, what's the most important feature to you? I only ask the question because there are literally hundreds of different electric blankets on the market. A man or woman could drive themselves crazy shopping for a new electric blanket if they didn't know specifically what features they were after. For some people, a basic model with a single zone and temperature control would be enough, as long as the fabric was comfortable. Someone else might want a deluxe control system, a more luxurious fabric, and decorative embroidery at the head and foot. Do you see the problem? There are too many to choose from.
Warming You Up Fast!
Dreamland electric blankets offer one major difference that sets them apart from the rest: quick heat-up time. On average, it takes between 15 to 20 minutes for an electric blanket to reach the desired temperature and then heat the entire bed. Many people with electric blankets find they must plug the blanket in and turn it on almost 30 minutes before they're ready to retire to the bed. This isn't such a big deal until Christmas Eve, when you're out late visiting relatives and you're ready to climb in bed the minute you walk in the door. With Dreamland electric blankets, that heat-up time is greatly reduced.
Dreamland's manufacturer claims that their blankets can reach their desired heat within 3 to 5 minutes, and subsequently heat the entire bed in less than ten. Using the same Christmas Eve scenario, you could walk in the door at 1:30 AM, turn on the blanket, and then go use the bathroom and brush your teeth. By the time you've finished brushing, left out milk and cookies for Santa, and gotten into your pajamas, your Dreamland electric blanket would have your bed toasty warm and ready to go. No waiting 20 to 30 minutes just for a warm bed.
Dreamland Blankets Vs Competing Brands
Of course, manufacturer claims are all well and good only long as the product lives up to the hype. Dreamland electric blankets probably heat up closer to the five-minute mark rather than the three minute mark, but that's still faster than your average electric blanket. Keep in mind that different Dreamland models have different heat-up times, and the 3 to 5 minutes advertised by the company is probably a best-case scenario. That being said, if the claims about Dreamland electric blankets are true, they definitely have a leg up on the competition.
As for the overall quality of Dreamland products, the customer reviews I found online seem to indicate that they are about average in comparison to the rest of the industry. Nothing in the customer reviews makes a Dreamland electric blanket stand out as being better or worse than the competition. In the end, the electric blanket you choose should have the features and the quality that are important to you; you're in control. If Dreamland meets your requirements, go buy one. If not, there are plenty of other manufacturers to choose from.
